My deepest condolences to the passing of His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, my king. The news of his passing has deeply saddened my heart seeing as a young girl I watched him play on his enthronement. To see him taken from us has truly devasted me. We, the people of Toro have truly been robbed of this precious gift but would like to strengthen you all with the scripture: John 11:25: Jesus told her, “I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again. Anyone who believes in me, even though he dies like anyone else, shall live again. May his majesty's soul rest in eternal glory.
The sudden passing of our King Oyo has left us with a profound sense of shock, disbelief and emptiness. It is difficult to comprehend that a King we thought would be with us for many more years is no longer here. Today, we mourn not only a King, but a symbol of our heritage, our pride and our identity. May his legacy live on forever. Rest in perfect peace, Your Majesty. 🕊️👑
It is with great sorrow learning about the passing of a King of Tooro. Humble, kind, peace-maker and a center of inspiration. It is so sad writing this message, but the Lord he believed in reigns. May your aspirstions live forever King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, Rukidi IV Commiserations to the Kingdom and all the Tooro Family and Friends.
Thank you, my King, for your unwavering love for God, the people of Tooro, and Uganda. You carried the crown with humility, compassion, and a rare kindness that touched countless lives. It is especially painful to lose you so young, Okaali, after a lifetime of service that began when you ascended the throne as a child and inspired generations through your leadership. May the King of Kings, whom you served faithfully, receive you in His eternal embrace. Your spirit, legacy, and vision will live on forever. Rest well, Agutamba.

A Tribute to His Majesty, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV It is with a heavy heart that I join the people of Tooro, and indeed the whole of Uganda, in mourning the passing of His Majesty, the Omukama of Tooro. His passing is a painful reminder of how fragile life is, and how quickly we can lose those who mean so much to us. King Oyo was more than a monarch — he was a symbol of resilience, grace, and unity from the very moment he ascended the throne as a young boy of three. He carried the weight of a kingdom on his shoulders before he even understood what that meant, and he grew into that role with a quiet dignity that touched not only his people but the world beyond Tooro's borders. To the Royal Family, I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences. No words can truly ease the pain of losing a son, a brother, a beloved leader. May you find comfort in knowing that his life, though it ended far too soon, was one of purpose and meaning.
But beyond Akiiki's protocol and royalty, what stayed with me was his humility. He was very intelligent, calm, generous, and remarkably down-to-earth. He simply enjoyed the music, the atmosphere, and the company. I served him on at least five different occasions, and as a Mutoro, that remains a deeply treasured chapter of my life. But one moment will forever remain with me. When asked about his kingship on a podcast, he humbly responded: “Yes, I am king, but there is a King of Kings and Lord of Lords - Jesus Christ.” He openly spoke of his faith and the development of Tooro and encouraged others to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. I join the entire world to mourn not only a king but also a son of Tooro who carried his people, culture, youth, and heritage with dignity. The Crown may be empty, but the legacy lives on. Rest in eternal peace, my King. Omukama Atulize. Enkuba Etutire.
Omukama was not just a king of Tooro but a generational king. Am really saddened by the loss. To the queen mother and the entire Kingdom it's only God who can strengthen you. Long live Tooro Kingdom.
