Karuzika Royal Palace

Located on Karuzika Hill in Fort Portal, the Karuzika Palace is the official residence of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the reigning monarch of Tooro Kingdom. The palace is not just a royal dwelling but a powerful symbol of the kingdom’s history, culture, and resilience. Its strategic location offers panoramic views of Fort Portal town and the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance.

The original palace was constructed during the reign of Omukama Daudi Kasagama Kyebambe IV in the early 20th century, later renovated and expanded to reflect the enduring legacy of Tooro royalty.
