Her Royal Majesty the Queen Mother

Best Olimi Kemigisa

Her Royal Majesty Queen Best Olimi Kemigisa CGPA, PhD is the mother of His Royal Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the reigning King of Tooro Kingdom and Her Royal Highness Princess Nsemere Komuntale.

As mother of the youngest King in the world (Guinness Book of World Records), Her Royal Majesty Queen Best (HRM Queen Best) assumed the role of Defender (Regent) of the Tooro Crown in 1995 and took over critical responsibility to protect His Royal Majesty the King. 

Re-establishing the Tooro Kingdom

With support from some Kingdom Elders, the Government of Uganda especially H.E President Gen. Rt. Yoweri Museveni and International friends such as the Late H.E. Col. Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar Al-Gaddafi – President of the Republic of Libya, HRM Queen Best managed to maintain and uphold the image of Tooro, protecting the King and facilitated efforts to rebuild the most iconic building in Tooro Kingdom, the Karuziika Royal Palace (Official Ceremonial Palace).

As a mother, HRM Queen Best is impassioned about issues that affect women, children, the unprivileged children, single mothers and last but not least; eliminating harmful cultural practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) not just in Tooro but all over Africa.

Queen Mother Best Foundation

HRM Queen Best founded the Queen Mother Best Foundation in 2011 under the vision of empowering women, young people and other marginalized groups such as; the disabled, widows, single mothers, people living with HIV/AIDS, orphans in Uganda and Africa in general for full inclusion and improved standards of living.

Champion for Education

The Queen Mother Best Foundation is spearheading skills training under the Education Sector. Queen Best has constructed a Vocational Training Institution as well as a Nursery and Primary School which are both managed Under the Foundation.

The Nursery and Primary School are essential for early child development through education.

Queen Best Orphanage

The Orphanage was conceptualized in late 2023 and has to date constructed one (1) of the first four (4) care Homes which will initially house up to twenty (20) children from the ages of three (3) years old.

As a fundamental philosophy, every child will be fed, educated, skilled and cared for under the all-encompassing umbrella of the Queen Mother Best Foundation.

Strategic Support

The Queen Mother Best Foundation has supported activities such as the community awareness on Universal Human Rights, Climate Change and Food Security, end of early marriage and gender-based violence, inclusion of marginalized populations in HIV/AIDS responses, Skilling the women and young girls.

Queen Mother Best Vocational Institute

Special Technical Skills are offered at The Queen Mother Best Vocational Institute, where young people faced with life challenges are offered Bursaries and are able to access Skilling opportunities like:
